How Donations Are Used
Our goal in 2019, is to expose 10,000 kids to drones and give them hands-on experiences with drones. We want scholars coding drones, planning aerial missions, and getting in the air for a fun, exciting, and completely hands on learning! In 2019, we will be participating in 4 large events Scout Challenge, Aviation Day at Chandler Field, National Drone Day, and Girls In Aviation Day. The aforementioned is in addition to visiting schools, festivals, libraries, and hosting drone competitions. With your help we make this happen!
To accomplish our goal, we will need the following:
- 200 programmable drones (Preferably Tello Edu)
- 200 Tablets (Preferably Apple Tablets)
- 200 Tablet Cases (to limit the Oops…I dropped it)
- 400 batteries (they only last 5 minutes and take 2 hours to charge)
- 300 Goggles (Safety first)
- 100 Drone Pilot Vest and visual Observer Safety Vest
- Software for the tablets
- 50 lighted gates to introduce scholars to night flight
- 30 Collapsible structures
- Protection Plans for the Tablets (Yes, the kiddos have booboo’s)
