Uber and the automobile maker Hyundai have formed a strategic alliance to create a Flying Air Taxi (the S-A1) to democratize point-to-point air travel. This Flying Air Taxi will travel up to speeds of 124 mph, have a vertical takeoff eliminating the need for runway and will introduce a new system of on-demand air travel avoiding getting into airline schedules. The Hoover elevate department is expected to be up and running by 2023 with Hyundai serving as the manufacturer.
